Smytec is preparing to participate in the European Academy of Forensic Science Conference (EAFS) 2025, which takes place in Dublin from 26–30 May 2025. As one of Europe’s premier gatherings for forensic professionals, academics and policy leaders, EAFS provides a vital forum for exchanging knowledge, advancing science and strengthening the connections between research and field practice.
Smytec is deeply aligned with the conference’s ethos of academic-industry collaboration. Our attendance at EAFS represents more than a product showcase; it is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful dialogue around the future of forensic practice, particularly in areas such as trace recovery, digital workflows and evidence preservation.
We will be demonstrating BlindSite, our flagship forensic imaging tool and highlighting its application in situ, specifically, its ability to retrieve a variety of forensic evidence types from both porous and non-porous surfaces without physical contact. The device has already shown promise in law enforcement and defence scenarios and is increasingly being adopted by laboratories and investigators requiring rapid, accurate and minimally non-destructive imaging technology.
Our team will be available throughout the event to discuss how BlindSite integrates with broader forensic protocols and to gather feedback from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike. We are particularly interested in engaging in discussions surrounding the standardisation of forensic technology, interoperability with existing lab and database systems and opportunities for collaborative validation studies.
We invite attendees to visit our stand, Stand 7, at EAFS 2025 to experience BlindSite in action and explore the science and engineering that underpin our innovations.
